Stephen Santangelo – Director-At-Large
Stephen J. Santangelo is the President of Palmer Wahl Instruments, Inc, a family-owned manufacturer of instrumentation since 1836.
Steve holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Fordham University, and began his career as a CPA before joining Palmer Instruments, Inc. Steve has been with the company since 1979, and president since 1987. Under Steve’s leadership, Palmer Instruments of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Wahl Instruments, of Culver City, California were merged and relocated to Asheville, North Carolina. Steve also started a Joint venture in China in 2000, manufacturing and selling products in China.
Palmer Wahl has been recognized by the Asheville Chamber of Commerce as a Most Innovative Company and one of Asheville’s fastest growing companies. Palmer Wahl earned Processing Magazines Most Innovative Product of the year award for the development of a self-checking RTD thermometer designed for the food processing industry.
Steve is the driving force behind shaping the mission, values, and goals for the company, focusing on continuous improvement and support of our customers with superior designs and solutions in temperature and pressure measurement.
Palmer Wahl is a member of IFTPS (Institute for Thermal Processing Specialists), Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Manufactured in North Carolina Association, A member of MCAA (Measurement Control and Automation Association); ISA, (International Society of Automation); and FPSA (Food Processing Suppliers Association), Steve donates his time to local school and town boards, and looks forward to his new role as a Board member for MCAA.
Stephen was elected to the MCAA Board in November 2018 as a Director-at-Large.
