8:10 AM - It's Your Ship - Achieving Breakthrough Performance
Mike Abrashoff
Former Commander, USS Benfold
Founder, Aegis Performance Group
When Mike Abrashoff took command of the USS Benfold, morale was low, turnover was high and the ship's performance ranked near the bottom of the Pacific Fleet. Just twelve months later Benfold was ranked #1 – using the very same crew. The lesson was clear – leadership matters and culture is everything. This inspiring talk is for every individual and organization looking for practical and usable ways to take organizational performance to new heights. In Mike's case, he realized that before the ship's performance could change, he had to change his leadership style. Mike worked to create a culture of trust and empower his crew to take charge and use ingenuity and initiative to improve every aspect of the way things were done. Top down leadership is dead, so when the crew would present a problem, Mike became famous for responding "What would YOU do? It's YOUR ship!" Mike's presentation will leave you with the tools and inspiration to accomplish big goals.

10:00 AM - Gauging the Risks Going Forward 2023 - 2024
Alan Beaulieu
President and Principal
ITR Economics
The US and global economies are going through turbulent times, with inflation, interest rates, consumer activity, labor shortage, market gyrations, COVID-Echoes, war, and simplistic and often contradictory headlines potentially making it difficult to discern what the future will look like. Given all the noise and misdirection, it may seem impossible to plan effectively for a prosperous future. That is where ITR Economics comes in.
During this session, Alan will provide a data-driven analysis of the trends. No emotions or histrionics or political agenda. The trends will combine to show the attendees what to expect from key industries and areas of interest.
- Big Picture: ITR’s forecast of the general economy (and specific markets if applicable) through the second half of 2023 and 2024 with an analysis of risks
- What to expect for commodity prices and inflation in general
- How interest rate trends may change and what that means for businesses
- The consumer’s financial health and why it matters
- What is going on with shortening supply chain trends
- Why industrial demand is likely to outperform in key areas
- What is happening in labor
- How to create wealth and protect profits in these market conditions
