Whether you’re new to sales, a seasoned veteran, or a sales leader, you’ve experienced tough times. This uplifting and practical message is your go-to guide to growing your profits and mental resilience in any downturn. When your sales team applies the message and embraces the right mindset, they will sell more profitably and build a strong foundation of mental strength. What they discover through tough times will carry them even further when good times return.

In this session, participants will learn the right skills and embrace the right mindset to thrive. We will discuss:
• What are tough times and why are they ‘good’?
• How do buyers define value in tough times?
• Build mental strength like a tough timer
• The top mistakes sellers make in tough times
• The critical selling activities (CSAs) to thrive in tough times.

Alan Beaulieu
President and Principal
ITR Economics

The US and global economies are going through turbulent times, with inflation, interest rates, consumer activity, labor shortage, market gyrations, COVID-Echoes, war, and simplistic and often contradictory headlines potentially making it difficult to discern what the future will look like. Given all the noise and misdirection, it may seem impossible to plan effectively for a prosperous future. That is where ITR Economics comes in.

During this session, Alan will provide a data-driven analysis of the trends. No emotions or histrionics or political agenda. The trends will combine to show the attendees what to expect from key industries and areas of interest.

  1. Big Picture: ITR’s forecast of the general economy (and specific markets if applicable) through the second half of 2023 and 2024 with an analysis of risks
  2. What to expect for commodity prices and inflation in general
  3. How interest rate trends may change and what that means for businesses
  4. The consumer’s financial health and why it matters
  5. What is going on with shortening supply chain trends
  6. Why industrial demand is likely to outperform in key areas
  7. What is happening in labor
  8. How to create wealth and protect profits in these market conditions

Teresa Sebring, MCAA President and Skip Tierno, President of The Americas, UCT Fluid Solutions & MCAA Chairman will close out the 2023 meeting.
