Bob Tippee
Industry Expert

Demand contraction and a price war have thrown oil and gas markets into disarray. Until the coronavirus pandemic subsides, forecasts are guesswork. Still, two messages seem clear: A new form of oil-supply management must replace the “OPEC-Plus” system now in shambles. And when global economies revive, as they will, oil and gas will retain their prominence in an energy system destined for transition. This presentation will address an historic upheaval in an industry vital to post-contagion economic recovery.

March 13, 2020

The Measurement, Control & Automation Association’s Board of Directors and I have been closely monitoring the declining situation surrounding the Coronavirus. At the recommendation of the Houston Mayor, Houston Health Department and the Judge of Montgomery County, along with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, we have decided to CANCEL the 2020 MCAA Industry Forum.

Given the escalation of events in the past 24 hours, we feel this is the best way we can protect not only your health but also the health of those around you.

MCAA will provide full refunds of conference registrations, golf and spouse fees, Marketplace tables, and sponsorship payments. If you wish to apply your paid fees to other open invoices or to the 2021 event in Atlanta, GA, we are happy to work with you.

We are grateful to all of you who made plans to attend this year. It is heartbreaking to miss the annual gathering of our valued members. We look forward to seeing you next year (April 19-21) in Atlanta, GA. Until then, we will continue to work diligently on your behalf to provide you with relevant and timely resources to help you grow and expand your business operations.

Please email me at or call (757) 258-3100 X200 with any additional questions.
